How do you support student success?
As an academic advisor, we normally are students’ first point of contact when they are in distress, need space to vent or need encouragement. As a result, many advisors serve as “anchors” or “safe harbors” where students can find a sense of normalcy.
Where at OSU do you feel you have the greatest impact?
I've found that advocacy has had the greatest impact. Students frequently voice their concerns to their academic advisors, which gives us the opportunity to share their feedback with departments and help create a smoother, more supportive academic experience.
Why are you proud to be part of OSU?
I’m proud to be part of OSU-Cascades because of the impact we have on our students’ academic success and journey in life. The opportunity to serve the next generation is both rewarding and fulfilling.
