Food and monetary donations

OSU Food Drive - Food and Monetary Donations

There are three main ways to contribute to OSU’s Food Drive – food donations, monetary donations and planning an event or activity where you collect food or raise money.

Here is what you need to know when collecting food or monetary donations for the Food Drive.

Food donations

Food donated through the Food Drive must be non-perishable and commercially canned and packaged. There is a great need for food high in nutritional value. See the Most Wanted Foods poster for examples.

Where do I take collected food items?

Location: OSU Surplus/OSUsed Store, 644 SW 13th Street

Drop off hours: Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Instructions: Go to the side garage door on 13th Street, near the southwest corner of "A" Street. Press the door buzzer to be let in and let staff at the front desk know you are dropping off for the Food Drive.

All food donations must be dropped off prior to the end of the Food Drive.

Remember: If you want your donation to count for the competition, you must weigh the food items prior to dropping it off at OSU Surplus and email the total weight to [email protected].

Monetary donations

$1 = 4 pounds of food = over 3 meals

Each dollar donated counts as four pounds of food or about three meals. Food share agencies leverage funds by purchasing low-cost, high-quality foods at prices not available to the average consumer.

Monetary donations are encouraged.

There are three ways to make a monetary donation to the Food Drive.
